NOSE ENHANCEMENT: |Nasal surgery, often called a "nose job"—or by its technical name, "rhinoplasty"—is usually performed to alter the size, shape and/or the function of the nose. Contrary to popular belief, the exact appearance of the nose cannot be determined before surgery. A patient is not able to pre-select a particular nose since changes are limited by factors such as skin and bone thickness, nostril size and general facial configuration.

With this in mind, the patient must be very comfortable with their plastic surgeon's surgical and aesthetic judgment before proceeding. It is against this backdrop that Dr. DeWeese’s combination of intuition, compassion and technical skill enables him to excel at performing nose surgeries.

The Surgical Procedure

The length of time required to perform the operation is usually between two and four hours. The surgical procedure is done through incisions made inside the nose, ensuring that scars are not visible. If work on the nasal tip is necessary, or if a revision surgery is being performed, it is frequently helpful to expose the cartilages of the nose and repair them directly.

Modern concepts in rhinoplasty include building up the nose to achieve an aesthetically pleasing form (rather than just breaking the bones and removing tissue). Whatever the work being done, it is essential that your surgeon individualize the surgery: he or she must take the time to "diagnose" each unique nose, and everything done to the nose should be easily explainable to the patient. In addition to aesthetic benefits of rhinoplasty, any problems with the internal airway are concurrently addressed, leading to improved breathing after nasal surgery.

As one would expect, the cost of the procedure depends on the extent of the modifications performed. The surgery package price includes the surgeon's fee, the anesthesiologist's fee, and the hospital and operating room expenses.

What to Expect After nose enhancement Surgery

After the operation, patients typically experience discomfort in the form of headaches and a feeling of stuffiness. Swelling and bruising may occur, usually around the eyelids. Bruising generally subsides within seven to ten days, as does the majority of any swelling. It is important to note that the ultimate result of the rhinoplasty won’t be evident for at least six months, as it takes that long for the mild residual swelling to dissipate.
